Tanque Verde Unified Art Show, April 19th
We are pleased to announce the inaugural Tanque Verde Unified Art Show, which will take place on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the new Emily Gray Junior High School Fine and Performing Arts Building. The public is invited to attend this event, representing art programs throughout the school district.
Exhibits will include artwork from TVUSD students in Grades K-8, TV Community Preschool student art representing a vision of their ideal playground, and open studios hosted by Lew Sorensen Adult Community Resource Center Program, with instructors, Melanie Abel, Linda Baker and Julie Stein. PaperPie Learning (formerly Usborne Books & More) representative, Melissa Miller, will have art books, activity books and art kits available for purchase as a fundraiser for the schools.
Former TVUSD elementary art educator, and benefactor of Char’s K-12 Art Fund, Ms. Charlene Atkinson, is assisting in event preparations with Piper Jordan, EGJH/ACES Art Teacher, and TVES Art Teacher, Ms. Alicia Marrano, event coordinator.
Tanque Verde High School Art and Theater Program students will be assisting with the art show as guides and actors. TVHS student artwork will be displayed digitally during the show, with a TVHS Art Show to follow on May 10, 2023 at their campus, once the students’ current semester projects have been completed.
The Emily Gray Junior High School Orchestra will also be performing, providing musical ambience for the evening’s event.
