Attendance matters

Did you know - students should miss no more than 9 days of school each year to stay engaged, successful and on track!

Frequent absences can be a sign of losing interest in school, struggling with school work, dealing with a bully or facing some other difficulty.

By 8th grade, attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates.

Missing 10% or 2 days a month, over the course of a school year, can affect a student’s academic success.

What you can do:

  • Reach out to our school counselor, Ms. CC - cwhite@tanq.org

  • Post your child’s class schedule & log in information in a visible location.

  • Discuss the importance of school every day, so your child knows this is the expectation.

  • Maintain daily routines, homework, no screens 30 mins before bed and get a good sleep.

  • Avoid scheduling non-urgent dental and medical appointments when classes are in session.
