We are delighted to welcome Jenny Doyle to the Emily Gray Junior High family! Many in the Tucson community may know her as Jenny Gould from her distinguished career at St. Michael’s School, where she spent more than 20 years inspiring middle school students through mathematics instruction and STEM programming.
Jenny holds a master’s degree in education from UCLA and brings a wealth of experience, a passion for learning, and a commitment to helping students become confident, capable problem-solvers. Her dedication to student growth and success makes her a wonderful addition to our Bobcat community.
Beginning October 12, Jenny will join our math team, teaching seventh- and eighth-grade mathematics and Math 8 Essentials. We are excited to welcome her experience, enthusiasm, and love of teaching to EGJH!

🏐 Volleyball: Great Night for the Bobcats!
Our girls volleyball teams had an outstanding night against Casas Christian, with both teams coming away with a win! The Bobcats continue to improve, compete, and make their presence felt on the volleyball court. Great teamwork, great energy, and a great effort from both teams. Keep it rolling, Bobcats! 🐾🏐
🏈 Flag Football: A Hard-Fought Battle
Our flag football team battled hard against St. Michael’s in a very close and competitive game, ultimately coming up just short, 7–0. Emily Gray had a great opportunity late in the game and was stopped just outside the end zone at the goal line. Despite the tough loss, our team showed tremendous effort, determination, and teamwork from start to finish. We are proud of the way our Eagles competed and look forward to building on this performance!

🏈 Football Update
What a night for our Bobcats! Our football team put together a dominant 21–6 victory over BASIS Tucson North.
The Bobcats’ defense was locked in all night, creating multiple interceptions and making big plays when it mattered most. On offense, both quarterbacks stepped up and delivered strong performances, helping lead the team to a well-rounded victory.
Great job, Bobcats! Congratulations to our football team on an outstanding performance! 🐾🏈
🏃 Cross Country Update
Last week was a fantastic week for our Bobcat Cross Country teams! The teams competed in the Leman Marana Invitational on Thursday. The girls’ team took 1st place out of 12 teams, with two top-10 finishers. The boys’ team finished 5th, highlighted by a top-20 individual finish. On Friday night, the teams traveled to Phoenix to compete in the Desert Twilight Festival, one of the premier middle school and high school cross country events in the country. The girls’ team earned an impressive 4th-place finish out of 36 teams from Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, with three individual medalists. The boys’ team also had an outstanding showing, with three athletes recording personal best times. Congratulations to all of our Bobcat runners on an incredible week! 🐾🏃♀️🏃♂️

🏐 Girls Volleyball Update!
Our girls volleyball teams had a great night on the court against BASIS Tucson North!
💪 A Team: Dominated from start to finish, earning a decisive 2–0 victory over BASIS Tucson North!
🔥 B Team: Battled all the way to the finish! After each team won a match, the Bobcats came through when it mattered most, securing the overall victory in an exciting finish!
Congratulations to all of our volleyball players for their hard work, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Way to go, Bobcats! 🐾🏐
🏃♂️🏃♀️ CROSS COUNTRY TAKES 1ST! 🏆
What an incredible showing for our cross country teams! Both the boys’ and girls’ teams finished in 1st place out of five schools! 🎉
The individual results were just as impressive, with Roy Waldburger taking 1st overall in the boys’ race and Finley Johnson finishing 2nd overall in the girls’ race.
We also had nine additional top-10 finishers, with Catalina, Viviana, Taylor, Gracie, Claire, Molly, Tucker, Jaxen, and Quentin all turning in strong performances.
🏈 FLAG FOOTBALL DOMINATES 🏈
Our flag football team had an outstanding game Monday against Academy of Tucson, coming away with a 48–0 victory!
The team was firing on all cylinders, putting up plenty of points while playing exceptional defense. The offense consistently found the end zone, while the defense created several turnovers, including multiple interceptions and pick-sixes.
It was a complete team effort, with players contributing on both sides of the ball and stepping up in different positions when needed. Great teamwork, energy, and effort from start to finish!

We’re wrapping up another great week at Emily Gray! No school for students Friday, September 25 while our teachers collaborate and focus on strengthening teaching and learning.

🏆 Bobcat Sports Update
🏈 Football: The Bobcats secured an exciting 14–12 victory! The team scored two touchdowns and came up with two game-changing interceptions to help protect the lead and secure the win. Great teamwork, effort, and determination from our Bobcats!
🏃 Cross Country: Bobcat runners had another outstanding meet at Sahuarita Middle School, with 10 athletes finishing in the top 10! The girls’ team continued its undefeated season with another 1st-place team finish! Way to go, Bobcats!
🏐 Volleyball: The A Team earned a great win over Gregory School, showing strong teamwork and determination. The B Team continues to improve, doing an excellent job setting up plays, communicating, and working together. We are proud of the growth and effort both teams are showing!
